Java Software Engineer
Job Summary
As a Java Software Engineer in the R&D team in Porto, you will develop and maintain internal desktop applications for sustainable energy management. You will collaborate with international teams to build features and improve product evolution across the company ecosystem. This role focuses on backend development within an agile environment to support critical energy infrastructure projects.

- 2+ years of Java development experience
- Strong understanding of OOP principles

What You’ll Be Doing
- Develop new features for an existing Java-based desktop application
- Work on software tools used to configure and support other products within the company ecosystem
- Collaborate with the local R&D team and international teams in Germany
- Participate in the full development lifecycle, from implementation to testing
- Contribute to technical improvements and product evolution in a stable and long-term project
- Work in an agile and development-focused environment using tools such as Java, Eclipse, and Jira
What We’re Looking For
- 2+ years of experience with Java development
- Solid understanding of Object-Oriented Programming principles
- Experience developing backend or software applications in Java
- Good problem-solving skills and willingness to learn
- Comfortable working in collaborative technical environments
- English communication skills (mandatory)
Nice to Have
- Experience with Eclipse RCP or Eclipse-based applications
- Knowledge of SWT/JFace, EMF, Mockito, or JUnit
- Previous experience in the energy sector
- Familiarity with Maven, Jenkins, or CI environments
